Farming Machinery Workshop 20.1.09
On the 20th of January the HSE will be holding, in partnership with Mike Braithwaite, former Yorkshire Traffic Police, a workshop aimed at farmers who use farming machinery both in the field and on the highway. Following several high profile incidents involving agricultural machinery along with an increase in roadside spot checks, the HSE wants to inform farmers of the standards that they, VOSA and the police expect to find when inspecting these vehicles. Items for discussion include new braking research, loading limitations, maintenance, who and what can tow machinery, and when an operators licence is required. The event will be held at Roadford Conference Centre, near Okehampton, on the 20th of January 2009 starting at 10.15 and closing by 3.30. Should anyone wish to attend they should register by e-mailing Glenda Treneary of the HSE or by telephoning 01752 276315.
